Snapchat recently ran an advertisement asking its users whether they would “slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown” – overtly referencing Brown’s 2009 assault case.

Rihanna responded with fire on her Instagram story.

“You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to DV [domestic violence] victims and made a joke of it!!! … This isn’t about my personal feelings… but all the women, children and men that have been victims of DV in the past and especially the ones who haven’t made it out yet … You let us down!”

Snapchat has since apologised issuing a statement that “this advertisement is disgusting and never should have appeared on our service. We are so sorry we made the terrible mistake of allowing it through our review process. We are investigating how that happened so that we can make sure it never happens again.”

Not sure what kind of dullards are approving this shit.

Snapchat has since copped a 4 percent hit to their stock. The increasingly-irrelevant app is already in struggle-town after Kylie Jenner wiped 1.3 billion of their market value last month.
