Kylie Jenner appears to be a master at murdering business empires. Following the recent controversy caused by a certain $380 make-up brush kit, Jenner’s now sent Snapchat its death notice.

In a tweet yesterday, Kylie bemoaned “sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.”

While seemingly innocuous, Jenner’s tweet had devastating impacts. Since the tweet was posted, social media giant Snapchat’s shares have dropped by $1.3 billion.

In all honesty, the app’s been teetering on a cliff for months. A new (and pretty shitty) Snapchat update that prioritises celebrities snap stories and makes friends’ more difficult to access left users screaming for change.

Perhaps Jenner’s tweet was simply the proverbial boot in the back, sending the app falling towards its foreseeable demise.

Regardless, while you, me and Kylie Jenner sit behind our keyboards, wailing about Snapchat’s update schedule, the app’s CEO – Evan Spiegel – is about to pocket $811 million in profits.

Well, fuck.

Should we throw a funeral for Snapchat? Should we invite funeral strippers?
