Who the fuck is running H&M?
The Swedish fast-fashion behemoth ran perhaps one of the most cooked ad campaigns in history (coolest “monkey in the jungle”), then followed up by ripping off one of our local musicians.
And now?
They’re shafting street artist Jason ‘Revok’ Williams by using his graffiti in an ad campaign without paying the artist.
Williams filed a cease and desist letter to H&M, saying that the brand had “unauthorised use of [William’s] original artwork, and the manner in which it is using the work, is damaging and is likely to cause consumers familiar with his work to believe there is a relationship between the parties”
H&M then fired back, stating that “under the circumstances, in which your client’s claimed ‘artwork’ is the product of criminal conduct, Mr Williams has no copyright rights to assert”.
That’s when shit really went down.
The street art community went into revolt mode.

H&M might actually be the worst clothing brand in the ‘social media’ history of public relations. Whoever is leading the charge should have stopped at the third hit of aciiiiid
