Disclosure of C.I.A ‘Vault 7’ via WikiLeaks has made the world privy to US espionage hacks.
The release of close to 9000 documents titled ‘Year Zero’ are central to the CIA’s hacking program. iPhone, Android, Windows and Samsung TV’s are a handful of major products exploited and transformed into furtive microphones. Their hacking capabilities are achieved through various viruses, malware and trojans, controlled by the Center for Cyber Intelligence (CCI). It’s said that encryption measures have been bypassed on messaging services including WhatsApp and Weibo.
The scary thing is, they’re not only capable of infiltrating our communications, but moving inside as if they owned it, continuing to avoid being spotlighted.
Wiki Leaks reports their source wishes “to initiate a public debate about the security, creation, use, proliferation and democratic control of cyberweapons.”
Imagine a world where the actual CIA spends its time figuring out how to spy on you through your TV. That’s today. https://t.co/dQHBrsyIoI

Whilst the CIA won’t comment on the authenticity of the documents, this has no doubt caused some swift restructuring.
Such surveillance begs the question, is any space really ‘private’?
