We caught up with the girls from SketchSHE to chat about everything from the ‘slide’ shoe trend needing to fuck right off, to all those regrettable farshun choices we made in teen years.
So what have you guys been up to lately?
Over the last 14 days, the three of us have been to Munich, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, NYC and LA! We were working on a collab with Logan Paul, a travel vlogger in Germany. Note to self: shooting at Oktoberfest midst 1,000 drunk people can prove challenging at times, though drinking steins for content is also another noteworthy perk. We also most recently shot the next television commercial for the upcoming season of lip sync battles!
In one of your latest video, The Squad, you make fun of the fashion industry. Was there anything in particular that sparked this? Bad run-ins at fashion week?
Haha, I don’t think any of us have been to a fashion week! We do, however, find the “squad” and the modelling industry a great sub-culture to dramatise and find humour within! We wanted to shine fashion shoots and runway shows in a comedic light (c’mon, they are freaking ridiculous at times) and collaborating with U by Kotex to launch their latest Designer Series enabled us to do that!
We all have a regrettable style, mine was the classic front fringe! Do you have any regrettable fashion moments?
Oh where do we start?! Between the three of us we have rocked some pretty criminal cargo shorts, flared jeans, concealer covered lips, pantel pushers, Supré boob tubes, the hairstyle where you tie a ponytail but then pull out two strands as a fringe? I feel like we all had a pair of Etnies/Kustoms/ES sneakers, right!? (Those are definitely not a regret, though.) Did we mention we got to rock a tampon jacket as part of the shoot with U By Kotex?? #SahFashion
Along the same lines, what is one farshun trend happening now that just needs to fuck right off?
I think we need to leave “slides” (masseurs) in the past. No matter how much fur you add to them or how cool the labelling is— they need to stay in the privacy of your own home.
Now Instagram can really be a platform for these girl squads, are you girls guilty of the occasional cringe worthy posts? Any smoothie bowl ones from the weekend?
Us? Post Smoothie Bowls? Never! To be completely honest with you, just last night we took all of these photos from a ridiculous house party we were at in LA but I cant help but feel they are all a little bit cringe! We really wanted to show off the incredible mansion we were in, that’s all! I think all it takes for redemption is a daggy caption…;)
To sum it all up, is there anything exciting on the cards for you all in the near future?
Every day is exciting for SketchShe. Honestly, we get to work, shoot and travel with friends! We would love to continue working with the Lip Sync Battles and perhaps even start our own Lip Sync Battle show! Stay tuned!
