With a with a slew of undeniable bangers under their belt and a live show that goes unmatched in levels of energy, Thundamentals are clearly one of Australia’s finest hip hop crews. Hitting up Vanfest this weekend (cop your tickets + suss all event info for here), we knew we’d have to get a little more acquainted with the guys. After all we’d be getting all cozy in bunking up in a tent together….

What are you guys working on at the moment?
Netflix and chillin. Maintaining the sneaker collection, listening to podcasts, balling, skating, tinkering with some music. The good life!
What sort of shows do you have planned over the next few months?
We will be playing at Vanfest, Falls Festival, Field Day on New Year’s day in Sydney and Summernats in Canberra Jan 5th 2018. Should be litty come burn sumthin!
What are your styles when you perform? Favourite sneakers?
Morgs generally rocks some lighter clothes, fresh white garms on stage. Tuka and Jes generally keep it darker tones when performing : black tees, black hats, black pants. Morgs is a Jordan fan, Jes mostly rockin Air Max’s or Huarache’s and Tuk leaning more towards the Reebok Classic at the minute.
Best shows to binge watch whilst winding down?
Rugrats, Grand Designs, Ozark, Better Call Saul, Ren and Stimpy, Stranger Things, Rick and Morty, anything Attenborough.

Favourite pre-show drink/s to get you hyped, or the essential drink/s on your rider?
Pre and post show Jameson’s. Either raw dog or with a bit of ginger ale or Coke. Also got a case of Peroni on the rider. We aren’t huge drinkers but have been known to give it a nudge from time to time.
Heard you’re playing at the REDDS x Vanfest beer pong station. Which artist on the line-up do you think you can take on?
Dune Rats ’cause regardless of whether they win lose or draw they will be dranking all the dranks which should make for a good spectacle
