The news of the revival of arguably the most famous brick in history, Nokia’s 3310, has brought with it some insanely sad news for Aussies.
Despite the announcement of it’s killer features, such as 30 day battery life (yes 30 days), $70 price tag and endless nostalgia cred with a revitalised Snake, the phone won’t actually work in Australia.
The 3310 operates on a 2G network, which Australia has long since ditched, running only on 3G, 4G and now 5G networks, to speed things up (rather than slow things down as Nokia has done).
The phone has pricked the ears of many, looking to scale back their smart phone use, with the 3310 making it quite a challenging operation to download apps such as Facebook.
Since it’s only a cheeky $70, it could be perfect as a travel phone, surviving the backpack through Europe, or a game consul for the bus.
