Mikey Enright (the same man who opened York Street’s Barbershop three years ago) is back, this time with ‘The Barbershop’ a concept that has a focus on hair and an experience men will love.

“I really wanted to flip it with this one, and concentrate on just having a barber shop,” he says.

On first look into the shop, you’re welcomed by six barbershop chairs that hold a certain old-world charm, and instantly you know you’re in good hands.  Mike Enright is a collector of sorts, so its to no surprise that there is a display of all kinds of weird and wonderful vintage treasures. Sporting memorabilia, sculptures, books and all things uniquely Mike Enright.

“I spent a day a week on the road going to vintage shops all over New South Wales. The idea with the design of the shop was a collage of things I like. And so I went hunting,” says Enright.

The best bit however is that The Barbershop is home to one of Sydney’s smallest bars. Who doesn’t love a martini while getting a beard trim? The fridge is fully stocked with beer, different whiskies line the shelves and they’re known to make a mean gin and tonic.

The barbershop offers a range of products suited to men’s facial hair, with essentials such as beard oil and pomades. Mike Enright will also be launching his own grooming products a man will actually use, all infused with gin (of course.)

The Barbershop is a space where men can relax. “The idea is you can come in before your service, check your emails, have a drink, and just really enjoy the environment.” says Enright.
