Stoney Roads are Sydney’s go-to team for all things electronic, keeping you in the know with ~what’s good~ in the ever-changing world of beats, bringing the best of what’s happening within the depths of the internet to life.
Building a pretty damn solid rep for throwing some of Sydney’s best parties, keeping the culture of creative and innovative live music kicking, this month they’re unleashing the inaugural FORMATIONS Festival. Stoney’s ethos of spotlighting the online world’s Ableton geniuses and bedroom remix luminaries will manifest itself in a night of musical and visual spectacular, featuring a an absolutely stacked lineup of some of our favourite producers and DJs.

The Stoney Roads team is three Sydney based dudes! Guilty pleasure artist that’ll never get turned off in the office is Limp Bizkit… is that even a guilty pleasure though?!
We’re vibing the line-up – how did you go about curating it?
Thanks! The lineup reflects the growing scene of electronic beats/Hip-Hop/RnB and steps outside of the usual house and techno sounds that are well represented in Sydney. For the first year we wanted to bring together our favourites from around Australia including Swindail, Miss Blanks, Aywy, FlexMami and Jade Le Flay and were fortunate to pick up both New Zealand producer Montell2099 and German producer Mazde for exclusive Sydney shows as well! Pretty hyped to say the least!
You guys are no strangers to throwing parties – what’s different about organising a festival?
They are definitely different beasts hey BUT the flip is pouring all the energy into one event versus spreading the logistics and stress across 3-4 in a row haha some advice though, give yourself plenty of time to pull it all together!
First festival you attended?
Andrew – Good Vibrations 2009 and watched the late great James Brown. What a trip hey.
