You didn’t go to that tutorial? All G, REDDS is here to school you on the apps you to install A.S.A.P on that cellular device.
What Drops Now
This one is for all those sneaker heads. The app is a glorious curated shopping feed by Highsnobiety, telling you (you guessed it) what drops and when. By creating your own personal feed of labels & designers, you can get all the sneakers/streetwear first.
Waze
Waze keeps you on top of all the cop shops in town. It’s a user based community, meaning you can pinpoint police whereabouts for others and take down user tip-offs if they’re no longer camping out. You can also avoid dreaded construction and traffic as maps are in real time. Plus, you can check your crew ETA’s to coordinate your arrival.
Hangs
The first social app for uni students, helping you get the OG hookups on campus. It allows you to schedule hangs with other users nearby on campus or even ‘Hang Now’. In other words, your breaks will be solo no more. Hangs also details the best campus deals and nightlife in NSW, so there’s no excuses not to be social. The only thing we’re sad about is that we didn’t make this app ourselves.
Insight Timer
If you haven’t heard the word meditation you’re probably living under a rock. Calm the coffee jitters, stress and whatever else is weighing you down, with a community of 1.8M users. This app kinda reminds us of Spotify, as you can alter your meditation + accompanying music to your mood. Unfortunately unavailable via the Minimalist Light Phone.
Google Photos
You’re a sucker for backing shit up but never actually get around to do it? Google Photos tucks away your images on a private cloud, so you don’t have to — even search them by location or facial recognition.
Daily Budget
Calculate your fixed income and expenses to finally penny pinch for that Euro 2018 trip. Each day your budget increases if the previous allocation hasn’t been spent, so you’ll literally watch your dollars grow. You can even create wish lists that automatically take out a fraction of your budget daily, for those bigger purchases like Bang & Olufsen wireless speakers.
Nike+ Training Club
No gym? No worries. Nike will whip your ass into shape anywhere, anytime. Their workout programs and one off workouts cater your equipment, experience and desired workout length. The video demos by Nike Master trainers seem easy, but expect to be puffing by the end. Install & lace up those kicks.
Happiest Hour
This caught your eye because you’re either a bevvie fiend or a generally frugal type. This life hack will curate a list beer, food and drink specials nearby. Zingggg$$$.
Zomato
The naysayers may say this is basic, but it’s veritably the greatest hack of all time. Don’t be suckered in with neat looking menus and decor, when you can quickly gauge what everyone else thought of the joint first. Search restaurants, bars, cafes and dessert bars near you for reviews and ratings ahead of time. PRO tip: look at the menu first if you’re shit at making decisions.
Bandsintown
Why wouldn’t you want to hook yourself up with all the gigs in your city? Your mate that suggests all the gigs absolutely has this app in their repertoire. Build a feed around your favourite acts, and watch how quickly their shows pop up around you.
No more sleeping on ticket releases. Ever.
Quit being basic. Get installing.
