At REDDS, our Riders are more than just brand ambassadors – they’re at the forefront of culture, shaping music, fashion, art, and design in their own distinctive ways.

This month, we’re shining a light on some of our favourite creatives who are making a real impact. Each one is carving out their own path, offering fresh perspectives on culture and championing Australian arts in powerful ways.

Meet Cabu: find out where you can catch him next and what’s in his red cup. Come along for the ride.

2024 was a transformative year for you. You moved to the Philippines and blew up on TikTok! What’s your secret to success, and has relocating to the Philippines played a key role in your growth?

I think the secret really isn’t a secret; it’s more about gravitating towards things that fulfill me, and no one else doing things I genuinely love and enjoy. I focus on those vibes and energies, always in search of that feeling that comes from doing what you love. When you do that, success, money, and opportunities will always follow.

How does the music and event scene in the Philippines compare to Australia? What do you love most about it?

Being from Sydney and cutting my teeth in the scene there, I can definitely see a difference between how things are in Manila, specifically in the Poblacion area.

There’s a stronger sense of community and warmth I felt in the Philippines. At the same time, there’s a generation of kids and genuine music lovers trying to open the eyes of the general public, exposing them to a dance culture that has roots in the States, Europe, and Australia, while still being connected to local scenes and sounds, blending the two.

It’s an amazing time right now, and it’s been very fulfilling to witness it from the ground floor. The future looks bright, not just for the Philippines, but for Asia and Southeast Asia in general, in terms of dance music and culture.

What’s one event you dream of playing at around the world?

I would absolutely love to play Coachella, Boiler Room, and maybe even a Cercle event. Those are definite bucket-list items. Fingers crossed!

What’s on the horizon for you in 2025?

I definitely want to travel and play more shows in Asia and Southeast Asia, and maybe even hit Amsterdam’s ADE with Open House Records to represent both the Philippines and Australia.

I’m also writing my debut album, which I hope to release in July 2025. It will be self-titled and will be an amalgamation of everything I’ve done in my career.

What’s in your red cup? If you were a drink or cocktail, which one would best represent you?
I would be a gin and tonic with lime or calamansi—something light and fresh, for sure.

I’d love to have Nardwuar the Human Serviette, Anthony Bourdain, Kanye West, Pharrell, Tyler, the Creator, Charli XCX, Guy from Disclosure, Jackie Chan, and Mariah Carey.
