Cut | March 22, 2018

The long wait for Game of Throne’s final season has begun, and while 2019 feels like an eternity away, fans have been prepping themselves with theories and predictions to ease them through the pain.

I recently got myself into trouble with my editors for spoiling what happened last season, but it serves them right for lacking commitment to the best show on the planet.

But just for safe measure, be warned that this article contains spoilers for the seventh season.

The writers crammed so much content into last season that it was difficult to keep track of all the storylines. From dead dragons to incestuous flirting, Westeros reached new levels of absurdity.

But where do we go from here?

Since the show’s surpassed the books, there’s no real way of telling where it will take us.

With so much to cover, we revived some of the dead characters from the show to voice their opinions.

Lord Janos Slynt (Dominic Carter)

Role: Commander of the City Watch in King’s Landing.

Death: Beheaded by Jon Snow’s Longclaw.

What predictions do you have for the final season?
Well the whole series is called a Song of Fire and Ice, so I expect there to be an epic showdown between these worlds – along with some revealing facts about the characters we all know and love, and love to hate. With some very unexpected twists and turns. You know, the usual.

Who do you think will end up on the throne?

Without going into the royal lineage and rightful claims to the Iron Throne (which, frankly, is way too complicated for me), I’d really like to see Tyrion on the throne. I think he would change his heavy drinking and whoring ways and step up to the responsibility of being a king. He’s smart enough for the job.

What theories are you aware of surrounding the final season of the show?

There are so many theories out there, which is testament to how GoT has captured our imaginations, and how much as an audience we have invested in it. I like the one about Bran being the White Walker King, that’s fun, even if it may turn out to be codswollop!”

Ser Meryn Trant (Ian Beattie)

Role: Kings guard of Robert Baratheon.

Death: Stabbed in the eyes and chest by Arya Stark.

What predictions do you have for the final season?

It won’t be what we think. It never is. People will die unexpectedly and I’m reminded of Ramsay Bolton’s quotation, “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”

Who do you think will end up on the throne?

Will there even be a throne?  The worry has always been not who sits on the throne but who comes next. The best candidate, in my opinion, is Tyrion – with Varys next.

What theories are you aware of surrounding the final season of the show?

None. I avoid social media because I hate spoilers.

Lord Mace Tyrell (Roger Ashton-Griffiths)

The Cut | REDDS GoT Deaths

Role: Lord of the High Garden and Head of House Tyrell.

Death: Burned alive in a wildfire explosion at the hands of Cersei Lannister.

What predictions do you have for the final season?

War will lead to the compete annihilation of all dragons and White Walker life, and a catastrophic reduction of human civilisation. The way will then be open for the evolution of the world we know now, with its Classical antecedents, leaving just a collective memory of a mythical place, where dragons once flew, and perhaps of a wonderful city lost in antiquity, possibly called Atlantis.

Who do you think will end up on the throne?

Consequently, no-one will be on the throne.

What theories are you aware of surrounding the final season of the show?

I haven’t been listening to the theories, since I’m so confident in my own.

You know who else is going to cop it? Everyone on fucking MAFS
