For anyone who is part of the skateboarding community or has friends heavily engrossed in the lifestyle, a skate park is more than a concrete playground  — it has become a home to help the youth.

Skateboarding rebuilds dismantled communities, assists people in turning away from substance abuse and most importantly benefits mental health.

Realising this effect skate has, a volunteer-run non-for-profit organisation called Make Life Skate Life, are helping rebuild dismantled communities across the world through skate parks.

Working around the world, the organisation creates free of charge, community-built skateparks. The projects have spread worldwide with communities in IndiaBolivia,  Jordan, Myanmar, and Ethiopia gaining some of the first skate parks in their county to assist their youth in getting on the right path.

Make Life, Skate Life builds the communities through local involvement from start to finish, providing local skateboarders with the materials, knowledge, and inspiration to get creative with their own projects.

One of the three directors of the organisation Kali Rubaii explains the sport of skate helps kids just be kids.

“By building their own skate parks, flying through the air doing tricks, taking care of their equipment and each other, children become masters of their universe in a world razed by adults.”

To carry this project worldwide you can donate, volunteer or simply share one of their community driven projects here.
