It seems like there is truly no bound to what the world of high fashion will eventually scoop  up and consider a statement piece ready for the runway. From exceptionally non-functional pieces of plastic to random household items getting a couture spin, nothing is out of bounds.

Now,  John Galliano’s Maison Margiela has decided the latest non-clothing item to get the runway treatment is none other than the humble neck pillow. Featuring during Paris Fashion Week, models marched to a soundtrack of airport sounds  whilst donning a winning combo of swimming caps and broken heart lips.

Remember how #chic you looked hopping off that 14 hour flight, running on little to no sleep? That’s exactly what Galliano was going for, inspired by the idea of “proposing a new glamour — the idea of dressing in haste” particularly during a recent stop over in Mexico City airport.

Maybe its not such a bad thing, if this spikes a trend that allows the carrying of pillows in public at all times, that’s totally fine by us.
