Earlier in the month, the world was sent into a collective meltdown when billboards in Time Square and Los Angeles ominously featured the numbers ‘4:44’.
It was soon announced that it was Jay Z behind the scheme, with people speculating whether the billboards were acting as a sneaky teaser for Jay’s upcoming album.
During the NBA finals it was then revealed the project would be a TIDAL exclusive film starring Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danny Glover.
This morning, a new trailer was dropped for the film which looks like it’ll pay homage to classic noir style boxing films of the 50s and 60s, featuring a snippet of a new Jay Z song.
Check it out here:
Everyone involved with the project has been unspurprisngly quiet sourrounding details (like most things TIDAL related, tbh) but, we’ll finally get to see what it’s all about on June 30 when it finally drops.
For now, here’s what our old mate Obama had to say about Jay upon his induction into the Song Writers Hall Of Fame last week.
