Remember when you were 17? If you were anything like me you probably were busy finding yourself, pushing the boundaries of teachers and drinking cheap wine in Camperdown Park. Stephen Shore was the complete opposite of this, the photographer was already a well-known figure, quietly documenting the high standing figures that floated in and out of Andy Warhol’s Factory.
Stephen Shore crossed paths with Andy Warhol in 1965 by simply walking up to the artist and asking if he could document his warehouse where his glittery inner circle frequently visited. The next three years of Shore’s life was absorbed in taking raw, candid photos providing a unique explosé of Warhol’s a-list creative circle.
