Iceland is jumping in the driver’s seat regarding the gender pay gap, becoming the first country on the globe to legalise equal pay.

Companies will be slapped with fines if they cannot demonstrate concrete evidence that women are being paid the same as men.
Iceland announced plans to completely eradicate the gender pay gap on International Women’s Day last year.
Thank you, Iceland, for providing us with a little ice for all the burns we felt throughout 2017, and the general state of play for women in the workforce.
Not bad for a country with the smallest population in Europe.
