Crowdfunded campaigns always pose a bit of a risk, but this is one you’ll definitely want to sink your teeth into.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture has joined forces with the record label  Smithsonian Folkways Recordings to commemorate and celebrate the history of hip hop with the ‘Smithsonian Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap’, a collector’s item that takes readers and users on a journey through the rich, past, present of the culture. It’s not quite available yet, but, you can donate to the Kickstarter to be part of the curation and recognition of hip hop’s rich history.

The box is set to include 120 tracks over 9 CDS and a 300-page book with 10 essays, extensive track-by-track liner notes, and never-before-published images, curated with the help of legends like Chuck D, MC Lyte, Questlove. As a whole, it’ll seek to explore the evolution and global influence of the genre – from Tupac to Rocky, Yachty to Public Enemy, this is the ultimate bible required to up your game in the hip hop trivia department.
