The revival of 90s favourite, Crash Bandicoot was released last Friday to some seriously glowing reviews from critics and gaming die-hards alike.
Apparently Activision didn’t expect Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to sell as well as it is, but it’s clear they’ve been keeping up to date with what fans have had to say about the revival.
In an interview with gamesindustry.biz Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg said this :
“We are experimenting with Crash. We know there’s a vocal fanbase that wanted that to come back. But you never know if that is emblematic of a larger audience or just this niche, nostalgia-based community. So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”
Crash Bandicoot was originally released in 1996 as Playstation exclusive, and went on production hiatus in 2011.
Childhood gaming nostalgia has been through the roof recently, with SEGA announcing the release of all it’s original games for Iphone and Androids.
