Aleali May has left her mark on the iconic Jordan 1 silhouette once again.
After her first collab with Jordan Brand (which included a fur-trimmed tongue), May has enlisted WNBA star Maya Moore to help her create a shoe that blends May’s fashion background with Moore’s experience on the court.
This time around, May has left the Jordan 1’s beloved silhouette mostly intact, with the focus placed entirely on the bold colour-blocking choices. This collaboration will be a two-pair pack, including the Maya Moore x Air Jordan 10.
Each of the shoes are available in a complementary colourway consisting of deeply-pigmented purples, reds, yellows, and blues – reminiscent of the colours popular in Michael Jordan’s very own 90s heyday.
The uppers for both will be made of premium suede, while the Jordan 1’s will have a leather insole and lining.
As a personal touch, May’s sneaker will feature her signature on the insole as well as a removable faux fur tongue while Moore’s Jordan 10 will read “3:23” on the back tab to reference the athlete’s favourite verse in the bible.
Both the Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 “Viotech” and the Maya Moore x Air Jordan 10 are set to launch December 22 on Nike’s website and in stores. They are rumoured to be priced at $160 USD.
Hopefully the in-store release doesn’t get to wild, Miami’s cancelled Air Jordan 1 launch is a lesson learnt.
