So many of our favourite artists have used SoundCloud as a platform to get their music noticed  – every Sunday we’ll be spotlighting the beat makers, mixers and dizzying melody masterminds who are tearing it up on the streaming service.

Having grown up in both Hong Kong and India, it’s no surprise Mookhi‘s music has taken on such an enigmatic and mysterious identity. Combining sampled snippets of sounds off the street, eastern-based scales and distinctive melodies, Mookhi is slowly taking the underground electronic scene by storm.

Using a combination of midi-controllers and launch pads, the 22-year-old vocalist/ producer/ instrumentalist creates from her home studio in Sydney.

Check out her single ‘Foul Play’ (featuring Billy Fox) that showcases her unique use of scattered yet cohesive vocal melodies, deep grooves and dark undertones.

Mookhi will be tearing it up on the coveted Splendour In The Grass stage this weekend, as well as supporting Bishop Briggs during her sideshow performances.
