2017’s album release game has proved STRONG so far, with DAMN. and ALL AMERIKKKAN BADASS blowing our minds early on as serious contenders for the coveted Album of the Year title. To help you keep up with all the best album drops from the last month, we’ve compiled everything you need to keep your playlist vibing.

SZA – CTRL

This is one for the Album of the Year lists. Blending neo-soul, RnB and indie rock, SZA’s CTRL is equal parts Rihanna and Amy Winehouse and totally worth the wait and setbacks. With features from Travis Scott, Kendrick & a music video for the track Drew Barrymore that actually features…Drew Barrymore, if you haven’t sussed it already, get on it.

YOUNG THUG – BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS

So everyone lost their collective sh*t when Thug said that he was the new Tupac but, Beautiful Thugger Girls is packed with so many bangers, we’re not even hating. Incorporating super melodic elements, slack-jawed rapping and yep, even some country, Young Thug has pushed some serious creative boundaries on this one.

LIL YACHTY – TEENAGE EMOTIONS

The 19 year old rapper dropped this bombshell at the end of May. Love him or hate him, you have to admit the mumbling teen is slowly changing the game, and with bangers like Peek A Boo, Harley and, Bring It Back under his belt, it’s well deserved (even though he doesn’t know what a cello is…)

BRYSON TILLER  – TRUE TO SELF

Bryson Tiller blew us away with his 2015 debut Trapsoul and at the end of May, delivered some serious 90s RnB flavour on True To Self.

2 CHAINZ – PRETTY GIRLS LIKE TRAP MUSIC

If you’ve heard that Pretty Girls Like Trap is the best album 2 Chainz has ever released, BELIEVE THE HYPE (or listen and decide for yourself).

VINCE STAPLES – BIG FISH THEORY

Word on the street is that this could de-throne DAMN. as Album Of The Year. F*ck yes? F*ck no? If Vince keeps us on our toes like this (which other rapper is collabing with SOPHIE?), his status as Kendrick 2.0 may just be overturned….
